Who Are You? (Part 1)
He trudged along the stone path, pulling his jacket closer to himself to shield from the icy winds that enveloped him. Looking up, he noticed the dark clouds releasing jet black blobs made of a strange liquid that appeared to shift and move like slime.
The blobs, translucent at first, darkened and got heavier as they descended. They landed in the black river that gushed by him, threatening to overflow onto the already narrow path he walked on.
“Hey! Slow down!”
“Don’t tell me what to do!”
He grabbed his head in pain.
Another flashback.
He’d gotten several of these by now, with little understanding of what they meant or referred to. All he knew was that they triggered bolts of pain throughout his body.
Angrily, he kicked a stone in his path into the river, and watched it disintegrate within seconds. He couldn’t make sense of anything around him. An acid river. Clouds that rained balls of slime, sometimes containing images or messages he couldn’t decipher. The freezing cold winds that made his bones shudder. No sense of day and night. Or yesterday and tomorrow.
His eyes welling up with tears, he continued forward, marking another day spent in this dark, lonesome place.
